CTT Inc Welcomes Waterloo Region Community to Our New Office
by John Jung, CEO, Canada's Technology Triangle Inc
March 10, 2010 marked the formal presentation of our new home in Waterloo Region. The Open House held at 260 King Street West, Kitchener was attended by over 130 community members, business people and municipal and provincial leaders. After much planning and preparation, the event was a huge success in large part due to the support and generosity of our open house sponsors (Adamski Photography, Big Events Inc, BMO Bank of Montreal Financial Group, Conestoga College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning - School of Business & Hospitality, Ontario Drive and Gear, and Wilfrid Laurier University).
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us during the open house. We are extremely excited and pleased with the extended possibilities this location will offer to Waterloo Region and CTT as an organization. We are well situated to grow and expand and adapt a unique site to fit the needs of this diverse, innovative, entrepreneurial and collaborative community.
260 King Street West brings us to the heart of Kitchener at a time when the downtown core is thriving and re-inventing itself. We are pleased to join The School of Pharmacy; the Symphony’s new administrative home, the Conrad Centre; and Communitech’s Digital Hub in the re-imagined Lang Tannery building as new neighbours. Each of the downtown cores in the Region continue to evolve as the cities, planners and private sector developers work together on exciting initiatives. Projects such as the American Standard factory re-use, the new Drayton Theatre both headquartered in Cambridge; and the new Balsillie School in Waterloo offer exhilarating transformations to our Region.
In addition to having a new home, this location also represents a new venture for CTT. This is an opportunity for us to follow one of the key directions of our strategic plan and fill the role of providing catalytic leadership within the Region - the opportunity for a Synergy Centre. Our vision for the Centre is to have a location where like-minded organizations can converge and collaboratively foster unique ideas for the prosperity of Waterloo Region.
This will be a co-location that will allow for an ecosystem approach to economic development in the Waterloo Region. Fall 2010 will also mark the launch of a Theatre Event Facility located right within the same site. This will be a flexible and affordable theatre and event venue that can provide hosting solutions from a small group to up to 200 people.
If you have not yet already visited us, I invite you to pop in and allow us to tour you through the new space.
